Modern Technology

Every single day a new type of technology is being introduced to the world. Technology has improved a lot over years, and it is a great thing these days, because it can be very helpful, especially for people with disabilities. However people are taking advantage of it. Every piece of technology that is being made requires little to no skill. All the machines are so easy to operate that anyone can do it, and that keeps us from being active, developing our brains, it is also very addicting.

Why would we go to the store to get groceries if we can just order it on line and they will be delivered to our front door. Sounds easy, but maybe a little too easy!More and more people use todays technology because it is convenient. However using today’s technology properly and using your brain with it can accomplish many good things including building a stronger nation.

Nevertheless modern technology can be very addicting. Checking your email every five minutes, chatting with your friends for hours even though you’ve seen them at school, waiting till that last minute to win an action. These things take away time from a persons life. It brings out a question, what would people do without technology? Life would be a lot simpler, people would be doing more beneficial thing, such as helping other with whatever help they may need, reading a newspaper, doing physical work around the house. Unfortunately more and more people are being addictive to technology, spending hours and hours on the computer, for what purpose? There is no purpose, people are just addicted.

Now, the worldwide population is about nine billions people, but from the ancient times society has worked hard to develop, to improve life standards, to discover and to control everything on the Earth and also what it is beyond its limits. The last two decades in which many advancements in the IT technology were registered is argued that might have brought a lot of good new opportunities or a series of serious consequences for the population.

A big percent of the global population enjoy using the actual technology in order to make their lives more easy, interesting, or even more affordable. To begin, the enormous network known as World Wide Web which help people to keep themselves informed about the things that are happening across the world, to link new virtual relationships, to download entertaining materials like music or movies, and to continue, the simple idea of communication through email that help normal individual but also big companies from any part of the globe to stay in touch with his or her friends and of course their business partners.

On the other hand IT technology has developed to a very high level, creating sometimes negative effects on population. If we take a closer look to the evolution of the interpersonal communication, we will unfortunately discover that the modern individual communicates at least eighty percent through the inter-medium of the virtual space and only twenty percent will meet other people. In addition, the labor market has been so utilized that it replaces a big part of the human work force need. Because of this fact the contemporary society face higher unemployment rates, and an unsecured future is created for the next generations.

In conclusion, IT technology is very useful for nowadays society, creating many new opportunities in different fields of activity, but when the limits are crossed and the population does not control anymore these gadgets there is a problem and can have serious consequences among the healthy development of the human beings.

Operating Systems

An operating system is a common computer piece in the world today. An OS is an intricate set of software programs that helps organize information within a computer’s hardware. It can store information and retrieve it from memory systems or the hard drive. It can also direct applications and programs within the computer or from portable sources. In essence, an operating system communicates between the hardware and the programs as an organizational tool. For example, when you click on a program file to retrieve stored information, it is the operating system that communicates the command to the hardware, which pulls up the desired information. This means the only way that programs and hardware can interact is through the operating system, which determines the set of procedures and regulations they must follow to maintain order in the computer system.

There are many common operating systems used in the world today. They are used in many electronic devices, including computers, phones, videogames, tablets, portable music devices and websites. The search engine Google recently developed the Google Chrome operating system, thought it was created from the foundations of an older system know as Linux kernel, one of the first that applied to many different devices. Linux, in turn, was derived from UNIX, the original group of operating systems, which included a successful subgroup known as BSD. Microsoft Windows is another popular operating system with many versions.

There are also many different types of operating systems. Some are more commonly used than others, but all have benefits. Some, base their functions on timelines and real-time events. These programs are found in scheduled updates, reservation programs and other time-related tasks; they are known as real-time operating systems. A distributed operating system, on the other hand, links many computers together to create a cohesive network of information and rules; power and electricity-governing computers are a typical example.

Multi-user and single-user operating systems either allow multiple access to computer information or only allow the access of one persona at a time. Home computers typically allow only one user access at a time to the system on that computer. An embedded operating system are typically found on devices other than computers – usually phones and other small devices – and have much more strict, regulated, efficient operating styles than others. Without the invention of the operating system, computers would not have nearly the amount of power, diversity and applicability they do today.

Social Networking

Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter all come to my mind when someone says “social networking.” For many teens of this day and age, visiting these sites are a part of their daily routine. Sure, it’s a good way to keep in contact with your friends and peers, but can it be too much of a good thing? In my opinion, social networking sites are beneficial if used in certain ways, but can also be detrimental if used in the wrong way.

First of all, these sites make it possible to interact with the people next door, or across the world, with one click. This allows you to keep in touch with your friends and family that may live far away. Whoever you may need, whenever you may need them, you are able to reach them via social networking. These sites are very beneficial in keeping the user in touch with virtually the entire world.

Second of all, a feature on many of these sites allows you to upload pictures to your page. This is a very helpful feature in sharing pictures with your friends and family. The ability of people to comment on your pictures is both a good and bad thing. It’s nice to see what people have to say about your pictures, but often times, some people don’t have the most positive things to say. Others may take advantage of this feature and upload pictures that have the potential of getting themselves in trouble.

Finally, the ease of social networking often leads to people acting completely different over the internet than they would in real life. Often times people find it easier to bully over the internet. This may be because they feel like there won’t be as severe consequences than as if they were to bully in real life. Although, the consequences for cyber bullying are becoming more and more severe as people are starting to realize how serious it is becoming.

These three reasons explain how if used correctly, social networking can be very beneficial. They also show how it easy is to get in trouble over the internet. Overall, I feel social networking sites are a good way to keep connected with friends, family, colleagues, etc. when used correctly.

A lot of people say about the effects of technology on communication Do you agree or disagree?

Technology has been affecting many aspects of human life including the way people interact one another. Some believe that it has more benefits for people’s connection than drawbacks, while others contradict it. I personally argue with the former opinion, and through this essay, I am going to explain my reasons.

Initially, the first reason that I am going to elaborate is the way technology enhancing better communication among people. A large number of communication gadgets has been invented in order to help communication between people, even for those who are separated by spacious distance, getting simpler and quicker. Thus, by giving an easier chance to be connected, this development has been encouraging society’s sense of togetherness. They do not have to visit their colleagues which are in different regions or cities to ask their condition, for instance, because they could just pick up their phone and call their friends.

Subsequently, the variety of communication technology has been developed even further. The purpose is not only to make it easier but also to reach the better quality of communication. We can mention video call, voice messenger and social media as the parts of it. The users are not limited by the elder method of phone call anymore. They can communicate more interactively by using video call. Therefore, they can communicate with others in the wider range of connection by using social media such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. This situation will globally lead people into worldwide relationship.

On the other hand, there has been developing trend that people are becoming more individualistic as the effect of technological development. The decreasing opportunity of direct interaction among them is accused as the root of this problem. However, it depends on us as the users to utilise technology wisely. If we can maintain a balance between communication technology and conventional way of communication, the problem will certainly disappear.

Eventually, the advantages of using technology as the part of our communication types overweight the disadvantages, as long as we can manage it to be the helper, not the looser.
